Resetting a students password

We offer staff the functionality to self serve on resetting student passwords. This saves having to allow students out of lesson to get their password reset. Resetting of a students password it done through a application that is available on remote desktopRemote desktop is a feature that allows a school users to connect to a computer in another location, see that computer's desktop and interact with it as if it were local. Remote Desktop is useful for working at home or in remote locations in school. It gives access to printing, file share and the internet, as well as school software. and the classroom front of class PC’s.

To access the application look under the “R” category in the start menu, for more information on navigating the start screen this article.

There should be a application called “Reset Password”, launch this program.

The students username is formatted as year of entry and then their first initial, then surname (as in the above screenshot). Tick the “reset password” option and enter a new password.

The other options you can leave.

Once happy with the change, click on the “Reset Account” button.
