How you select a wireless network will differ dependant on device. This article will give you a overview on how the wireless and connection to the internet works.

  1. Via your device, connect to the CCS-OpenWireless network.
  2. Launch a web browser, and try to connect to a site such as “bbc.co.uk“.
  3. You will be prompted to enter your school username and password:

4. Once logged in your session is active

Notes:

Setting a custom IP address or DNS setting (Such as Google DNS) will stop your device connecting correctly to the school wireless. Ensure that your device has default values for its network settings.

Some Antivirus and local filtering clients can also block a device from correctly connecting to the school wireless. If you have problems, test this by temporarily disabling your antivirus software and trying to connect. For further assistance with this, visit the ITS Helpdesk.
